why I built this

I wanted Portuguese to bring me closer to my wife, her family, and Brazil.

The tools I tried taught vocabulary, but they rarely helped me understand the conversations, references, and daily life I actually cared about. Local Brazilian grew from wanting practice to feel connected to a real relationship and a living culture.

That personal problem became a simple product idea: start with the Brazil someone already wants to follow, then build the language practice around it.
